BBC Radio Lincolnshire

  • Full-time Mid-Morning Broadcast Assistant. February 2020 – present.

From February 2020 I will be working alongside Melvyn Prior and Barbara Stimpson to produce ‘Melvyn in the Morning’ – BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s weekday Mid-Morning programme.

My role will include everything from finding guests, to live reporting, to devising social media strategies. It will be varied, fast-paced, creative, and give me the opportunity to learn so much from Melvyn, Babs and the rest of the team at BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

  • Freelance Broadcast Assistant. May 2019 – January 2020.

Joined the BBC Radio Lincolnshire ‘Friday Night Takeover‘ team in May 2019 as a producer, researcher, and contributor. The role involved finding people and topics to talk about on the show, connecting with new audiences, and promoting the show on social media.

From August 2019 until January 2020, I was then offered freelance shifts across the station: on Mid-Morning, Afternoons, Drivetime, as well as the Folk Show, Lincolnshire Kitchen, Sport, Weekend Breakfast, and Pirate Gold. I represented BBC Radio Lincolnshire at a variety of events, including Heckington, Spilsby & Wragby Show, as well as Lincoln University Freshers’ Fayre and the Lincoln Christmas Lights switch-on. I also worked on Outside Broadcasts, for example: Lincolnshire Day from Hubbard’s Hills in Louth, I produced packages and reported from events such as Grantham Charity Music Festival Knipfest, and I supported various station-wide campaigns, such as Make A Difference.
